On June 10th, at the 2021 I/O Developers Conference held in May, Google launched the first beta version of Android 12. At that time, the company promised to introduce more new features in the update. On Wednesday, local time in the United States, Google released the second beta version of Android 12, introducing more privacy and security features, as well as new network connections.
Context-aware design function

One of the biggest improvements of Android 12 is the huge changes in the appearance of this operating system. For the first time, Google provides a context- aware automatic theme system, which can find color inspiration from your wallpaper, and then change the color of buttons, icons, and other elements accordingly . This feature failed to be released with the first beta version of Android 12, and now we can finally experience it for ourselves.
However, the effect of this feature seems to be very limited. Although Google promises that if users don’t like it, you can manually change the color scheme, but this feature does not seem to be activated.
Privacy dashboard
As Apple makes radical changes to its privacy and security policies related to the iPhone, Google will inevitably need to respond, including the launch of a new Privacy Dashboard. With this function, users can fully understand the privacy situation on their mobile phones.
Through the privacy dashboard, users can more easily see which applications have recently used the microphone, camera, and location information on the phone.
Other privacy and security features
In addition to the privacy dashboard, Google also demonstrated new features related to microphone and camera security at the developer conference. However, like the privacy dashboard, these features did not appear in the first beta.
New features include adding microphone and camera indicators to show users whether applications are using these indicators, and a new quick setting switch to prohibit applications from accessing these applications. After closing the access, the application will receive blank audio and camera video sources.
Related to this, Google has also brought a clipboard reading notification for Android, which will be displayed to readers when the application is reading from the clipboard. This will be a very useful way to let users know that any sensitive information they copy will not enter unexpected applications.
Changes in connection
The second beta version of Android 12 introduced a new way of interacting with network connections. In most previous versions of Android, pressing the Wi-Fi fast tile for a long time will take the user to the network section of Android settings . However, now you will see better pop-up windows that will make it easier for you to switch between Internet providers, Wi-Fi networks, etc. This can’t help but make people think of Samsung’s One UI easily, and Google has obviously drawn inspiration from it.
