Apple delays the deadline for app updates to abandon UIWebView
Today, Apple announced to developers that it will postpone the deadline for app updates to abandon UIWebView .
Apple said that it designed WKWebView in 2014 to allow developers to quickly and securely integrate web content into apps on iOS and macOS. Since then, Apple has always advised developers to switch to WKWebView from UIWebView and WebView (both have been officially deprecated).

Naijatechnews understands that at the same time, the App Store will no longer accept new apps that include the above deprecated frameworks. Apple announced last year that starting from December 2020, the App Store will no longer accept App updates that include UIWebView.
Apple said today that in order to give developers more time to adopt WKWebView and to ensure that it can support the most frequently requested features of developers, the deadline for App updates has been postponed to after the end of 2020. Apple pointed out that if a new deadline is confirmed, it will notify the developer again.
