Display analyst Ross Young shared a series of information about “iPhone 13” from Mizuho Securities today.
The iPhone 13 lineup predicted by Mizuho Securities looks very similar to the expected iPhone 12 lineup , including a 6.7-inch “Pro Max” model, a 6.1-inch “Pro” model, and a 6.1-inch non-Pro model Model and a 5.4-inch “mini” model. It can be seen that these devices will not have major changes in design and appearance.
It is speculated that all iPhone 13 models will integrate touch technology, and the Chinese company BOE Technology will work with LG Display to produce displays for the 6.1-inch iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro . It is believed that Samsung will provide Apple with Y-Octa technology for all iPhone 13 displays.
Ross Young said that the “most important improvement” on the iPhone 13 Pro model will be the ProMotion display with 120Hz function , which uses LTPO display technology to support variable refresh rates. IT House learned that after a series of mixed rumors, the current rumors seem to be basically the same, and the 120Hz display will not appear on the iPhone until 2021.
According to reports, the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini will get the same camera sensor as the iPhone 12 Pro Max, while the sensor size of the two Pro models will increase. This means that the cameras of all models will be significantly improved.
Ross Young predicts that both iPhone 13 Pro models will be equipped with lidar scanners, but whether this feature will appear on non-Pro models is currently unknown. For the iPhone 12, the rumors did not clarify whether LiDAR will appear on all Pro models or only on the 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max.
All iPhone 13 models may support sub-6GHz 5G networks, but Pro models will also support the faster mmWave 5G. This year, the iPhone 12 Pro Max is the only model rumored to offer mmWave 5G.
Ross Young also stated that there will be no third-generation iPhone SE before the spring of 2022. The third-generation iPhone SE is expected to have a 6.1-inch LCD display, Touch ID, sub-6GHz 5G, and the same dual cameras as the iPhone 11. This indicates that it will copy the design of the iPhone 11 in 2019, just like the previous iPhone SE model adopts the design of the old device and upgraded the internal configuration. It is estimated that it will integrate Touch ID into the power button like the iPad Air 4. .
