To complement the already announced Edge 20, Edge 20 Pro, Edge 20 Lite, and Edge 20 Fusion, Motorola has launched Motorola Edge 2021. It is the successor to last year’s Motorola Edge and also lacks the curve screen.
The Motorola Edge 2021 is a weird device. While it looks like the Edge 20/Edge Lite (China), its specifications are actually quite different and it doesn’t have that lightweight and thin design. It also feels like a downgrade in some areas when compared to last year’s model.
The FHD+ display is 6.7-inches or 6.8-inches (the product page says both) but it is an 8-bit LCD and not a 10-bit OLED. It does keep the 576Hz touch response rate and 144Hz refresh rate which it claims is 60% faster than that of the first generation Edge and Edge+. It also has HDR10 and there is a centered punch hole for a 32MP camera.
Powering it is a Snapdragon 778G processor paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of non-expandable storage. Surprisingly, it gets a bigger 5000mAh battery with support for 30W TurboPower fast charging with an included charger.
