Africa’s largest oil refinery and the largest single–train petroleum complex, the Dangote Refinery is located on 6,180 acres (2,500 hectares) of land. Mr. Devakumar Edwin, Group Executive Director, Strategy, Portfolio Development & Capital Projects, Dangote Industries Limited, hinted that the refinery would enable easy transhipment of refined petroleum products to international markets and eventually end the overreliance on fuel import from other regions into Nigeria.
He claimed that the refinery would promote Nigeria’s economic growth and that it could supply all liquid goods (such as gasoline, diesel, kerosene, and aviation jet) to Nigeria’s exact specifications as well as having a surplus of each product available for sale.
“The high volume of petrol output from the refinery would transform Nigeria from a petrol import-dependent country to an exporter of refined petroleum products,” he stated, adding that the refinery would produce Euro-V quality gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, kerosene and poly–propylene for local consumption and also have a surplus of each of the products for export.Jamb Result
