OnePlus company also promised that Android 8.1 Oreo will be released on OnePlus 3 and 3T in a couple of months and Android Oreo will be the last update for OnePlus 3 and 3T. If you want to taste the latest features before anyone else then you can flash the NitrogenOS 8.1 or LineageOS 15.1 to enjoy the latest features.

Steps to Install Android 8.1 Oreo on OnePlus 3&3T [NitrogenOS 8.1]

Before proceeding further, remember that this is a first NitrogenOS 8.1 unofficial build. You may notice some bugs and may not work as your daily driver. Follow the below step by step guide to Install Android 8.1 Oreo on OnePlus 3&3T [NitrogenOS].

Your device must have unlocked bootloader with TWRP Recovery installed.

Pre-requisites

This guide only for OnePlus 5T.

Take a full backup before proceeding further.
Unlock Bootloader on OnePlus 3&3T.
Install TWRP Recovery on OnePlus 3&3T.

Install USB Drivers.
Maintain more than 50% – 60% battery to prevent the sudden shutdown.

Install Android 8.1 Oreo on OnePlus 3&3T

Step 1:

First Install TWRP Recovery on your device.

Step 2:

Download NitrogenOS Zip and GApps and transfer file into your device.

Step 3:

Reboot your device into TWRP Recovery.
1. Power off your device.
2. Press and hold “Volume down button + Power button” until you see anything on the screen.

Step 4:

Now in the TWRP main menu, Click on the Wipe and swipe to factory reset.

Step 5:

Go back to the main menu in TWRP, click on install and select the NitrogenOS zip file.

Step 6:

After selecting the NitrogenOS zip file, do swipe to confirm flash to begin the installation process.

Step 7:

Now, Navigate to TWRP main screen and follow the same process for installing GApps.

Step 8:

After the installation process is completed, check the Wipe cache/Dalvik option, click on it and Swipe to wipe.

Step 9:

Now reboot your device from the TWRP main menu.

Step 10:

Done!!!
