Samsung is committed to providing 2 years of Android updates and 4 years of the latest security patch updates. The South Korean tech giant has recently changed its update policy to give three major upgrades, an increase from two years.
Now, we are talking about the old Galaxy S7 series devices. Both Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge was eligible to get two major OS upgrade and 4 years of a security patch update. So that the company has followed its commitment and provided one more update to its Galaxy S7 series devices.
These two devices are receiving the latest update, which comes with a software version of G930FXXU8ETI2 and G935FXXU8ETI2 for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge respectively. The latest update comes with September 2020 security patch, weighs 69MB, fixes some bugs, and improves the performance of your device.
The update is currently spotted in the United Kingdom and Canada, it should soon be widely available in several countries. Moreover, I think it could be the last update for both of these devices.
