With Android 9, Google tentatively introduced a night mode (dark mode) for the operating system, which was basically accomplished with Android 10. At least the Android version from 2018 is a prerequisite for the night mode of many Google apps. Surprisingly, it’s different with the Google Play Store, the Android app now has a night mode for older versions of Android. For this you will find a new switch in the settings of the Play Store, which should already be available to users as of Android version 5 (Lollipop). This comes as a surprise, but it’s a very nice thing. Would it actually be feasible for other Google apps?
Night mode for almost every Android device
Google writes on Twitter that night mode is now available on “every Android device” in the Play Store. This should not be completely true, a few devices are safe on older Android versions and are still used today. Google is now distributing the innovation; the new switch should now be available in the app.
