Surveillance is one of the most security conscious activity everyone needs and does. Prior to the invention of technology surveillance has taken diverse forms. The use of CCTV is common in many areas around the world. In recent years, the use of body worn video cameras has been introduced as a new form of surveillance, often used in law enforcement, with cameras located on a police officer’s chest or head.
Closed-circuit television (CCTV), also known as video surveillance, is the use of video cameras to transmit a signal to a specific place, on a limited set of monitors. It differs from broadcast television in that the signal is not openly transmitted, though it may employ point-to-point (P2P), point-to-multipoint (P2MP), or mesh wired or wireless links. Though almost all video cameras fit this definition, the term is most often applied to those used for surveillance in areas that may need monitoring such as banks, stores, and other areas where security is needed.
In my previous article, I thought us how to make a drone. Today I will be teaching us how to make a spy cctv camera with easy steps. Let’s roll.
TOOLS REQUIRED
1 An old phone
2 Usb cable
3 BC 547
4 Soldering Pin
5 OTG cable
Step 1
Get an old phone that’s probably not of use anymore.
Step 2
Detach the phone from behind till you get to the motherboard
Step 3
After detaching the phone, the photo above is what you will see
Step 4
This is where you will need to remove the camera from the mobile phone. As demonstrated in the picture, there is a 12 pin camera line which every phone camera has with a + and – (Positive And negative) usb power line attached to it
Step 5
Get a usb cable or chord. Preferable a Condemned one that still functioning
Step 6
Carefully cut open the wire, you will see a white, red, black and green wire. The black and red is what gives power to the phone which enables it to charge, while the green and white is the portable usb wire line which enables you to connect the usb to your laptop etc.
Step 7
Separate the 4 wires into two each. The photo below is what you will get
Step 8
Attach the usb wires to your camera. After this, Use your soldering pin to join the wires to the 25 pin camera line. The power cable should be placed in the negative (-) side while the usb cable should be placed in the positive (+) side of the power line
Step 9
Get a BC 547.
The BC 547 is transistor is basically an electrically controlled switch. The BC547 is a NPN transistor meaning when power is applied to the base (control pin) it will flow from the collector to the emitter. Typically NPN transistors are used to “switch ground” on a device, meaning, they are placed after the load in a circuit.
Step 10
Now you use your soldering too To join both the cable, the camera and the BC 547 together from behind. It should be joined together on the same power line
This is what you will achieve
Step 11
Get an OTG cable and attach to the constructed spy camera
USB On-The-Go (OTG) is a specification which allows USB devices, such as tablets or smartphones, to act as a host, allowing other USB devices, such as USB flash drives, digital cameras, mice or keyboards, to be attached to them.
Download the ‘My Spy’ application from google play store, preferably the one with the logo below
Launch the application, accept trust certificate and connect your constructed spy camera and see the magic
