Xiaomi plans to expand its sales channels to consumers in rural India through the “Mi Store on Wheels” (Mi Store on Wheels), hoping to sell smartphones to the most remote areas of India.
Xiaomi is currently the best-selling smartphone brand in India. The company is launching mobile stores, which will cover specific routes to Indian bazaars. These places are either bazaars where people gather, or there are weekly gatherings. Xiaomi said in a press release on Monday that in addition to selling smartphones, mobile stores will also sell smart TVs, CCTV cameras, earphones, sunglasses and power banks .

In the second quarter of this year, due to the spread of the new crown epidemic in India, India’s smartphone shipments were reduced by half year-on-year, but Xiaomi still maintained its number one position in the Indian smartphone market.
Muralikrishnan B, Chief Operating Officer of Xiaomi India, said, “Mobile stores are safe for consumers. With this new initiative and the largest single-brand retail network, we are determined to expand our sales channels. To the most remote areas in India, to meet the needs of consumers and bring the experience of Mi Store to the community of consumers.”
According to Xiaomi’s statement, Xiaomi India currently has more than 8,000 preferred partners for the Xiaomi brand, more than 4,000 large retail partners, and 3,000 retail stores.
