Huawei: Smart phones cover 15 accessibility features, and about 10 million people use terminal accessibility services every month

On September 12th, during the Huawei Developer Conference 2020 (Together), Huawei Consumer Business released a sustainability progress report, expounding the sustainability achievements made in the past ten years, including information accessibility, education and health, and green Four areas of environmental protection and corporate responsibility. This is the first time that Huawei’s consumer business has independently announced the progress of this work.

Huawei said that it is the responsibility and mission of Huawei’s consumer business to allow everyone to experience the convenience and power of technology on an equal footing. Since 2017, EMUI 5.1 fully optimized the user’s accessibility experience, the company has continued to make small improvements. Bringing convenience to the “minority” groups; currently, Huawei smartphones cover 15 accessibility features, and about 10 million people use terminal accessibility services every month to enjoy a better digital life.

According to data provided by Huawei, more than 1.8 million users have downloaded and registered the Heart Health Research APP in the Huawei App Market, and screened more than 3900 cases of suspected atrial fibrillation, with a diagnosis rate of 90%.

Huawei said that from 2015 to 2019, the energy efficiency of Huawei’s mobile phone products has increased by about 50%; through trade-in, Huawei has allowed nearly 500,000 devices to find new owners since 2015; by changing the plastic packaging to fiber material, the P40 series packaging material plastic Compared with the previous generation, the content is reduced by 17%, and the use of plastic is reduced by 17,500 kg for every 10 million mobile phones. Through the normalized packaging design, the next-generation Mate series flagship machine’s packaging installation rate is 68% higher than that of the Mate7 series, and the packaging weight of each mobile phone is reduced by 55 grams. It can save about 550 tons of paper for every 10 million units, which is equivalent to saving 9,350 trees; the 2019 survey of 25 suppliers of Huawei’s consumer business showed that they reduced greenhouse gas emissions by more than 540,000 tons; during the same period, Huawei’s consumer business had face-to-face communication with more than 15,000 front-line workers to understand their living and working conditions. Workers work and live in a healthier, safer, and more dignified environment.
