Apple has allowed users to set third-party applications in iOS and iPadOS 14 to replace the default mail and browser applications. However, whenever the user’s device is restarted, a bug will appear, which will restore these settings to Apple’s default Application .
This problem was reported by some users after it was discovered. Since then, Apple has confirmed the existence of the bug in a statement to CNET.
Apple said in a statement: “We are aware of issues that may affect the default email and browser settings in iOS 14 and iPadOS 14. Users can get fixes through software updates.”
Before Apple solves the problem, if you set a third party as the default application, you should avoid closing or restarting the iPhone or iPad. Otherwise, you will have to reset it. Of course, if the battery of the device runs out, there is no way.
Currently, Chrome, Edge, DuckDuckGo and Firefox can be set as the default browser, while Spark and Microsoft Outlook can be set as the default mail application.
