LG’s UltraGear 17G90Q Is The Company’s First Ever Gaming Laptop

LG is no stranger when it comes to laptops. At CES every year, the company almost always showcases its new LG Gram series of laptops, but this year, it seems that LG is heading down a slightly different path with its laptops as they have unveiled the LG ULtraGear 17G90Q, the company’s first ever gaming laptop.

If you’ve ever browsed LG’s gaming monitors before, then you are probably familiar with their use of the UltraGear branding. With the 17G90Q, the laptop will feature the use of a 17.3-inch WQXGA IPS display with a 16:9 aspect ratio, and a resolution of 2560×1600, and it will also support a refresh rate of up to 300Hz, which is pretty insane since even regular desktop monitors don’t typically go that high.

Oddly enough, under the hood LG will be using an Intel 11th Gen Tiger Lake H Core processor, which like we said is an odd choice since Intel recently announced its 12th Gen series for laptops. As for GPUs, the laptop will be featuring NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 3080 Max-Q, and will support up to 32GB of RAM and 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD storage.

The LG UltraGear 17G90Q will also come with a vapor chamber cooling system, a built-in fingerprint scanner, WiFi 6E support, and a host of ports ranging from USB-A to USB-C, HDMI, Ethernet, and a headphone jack. There is no mention of pricing yet but it is expected to be available in the US and South Korea in the early part of 2022.
