Melanie Perkins is an Australian technology entrepreneur and the CEO and co-founder of Canva, an online graphic design and publishing tool.
Since launching the company in 2013, Perkins has been deemed one of Australia’s tech unicorns and created a network of over 15 million Canva users.
Not only is Perkins one of the coolest people in Australia, she’s also one of the richest women in the country.
Canva increased in popularity exponentially when people working from home during COVID-19 lockdowns started utilising the software as a result of the stay at home orders globally.
The frequent usage of the app and it’s growth took the 32-year-old’s wealth to $2.5billion, making Ms Perkins Australia’s third richest woman.
Melanie Perkins is originally from Perth, Australia. She founded the Sydney-based digital graphics business Canva with her fiance Cliff Obrecht in 2014 after dropping out of university.
