The latest survey results show that the issue is affecting applications that use DPAPI (Data Protection API) and protect user storage through Windows Credentials Manager. Naijatechnews learned that some of the core components of Windows 10 also use the Data Protection API . After Windows 10 version 2004 or the most recent cumulative update, an error caused Windows 10 to forget the storage password service of the application (such as Chrome, VPN), etc.
Some users say that they will log out when they log in to the website with Chrome every day, and Edge has the same problem.
Microsoft has confirmed the existence of related issues and is actively investigating this issue, but there is no official solution yet .
According to Chromium engineers’ investigation results of this issue, the issue is related to Windows 10 and will affect other applications on the system that use DPAPI (Data Protection API).
If you have upgraded to Windows 10 version 2004 and there are problems with the saved credentials or browsing session information, you can wait until Microsoft fixes the error before using the ISO image to reinstall the May 10, 2020 patch.
