Microsoft Win10 brings a new voice typing and dictation experience

Microsoft is developing a new feature of Windows 10, when you do not want to use the mouse and keyboard, it will help you control the text field. With the new voice typing experience, you can now easily use dictated text to create documents, emails, and more.

For a long time, Windows has provided its own dictation function, allowing you to use voice typing in Windows 10 wherever there is a text field, but Microsoft is now developing “the most reliable voice typing experience ever on Windows.”

This new voice dictation function will bring super power to your typing experience, and it will also benefit from the modern design of the dictation mode and touch keyboard.

It also has an automatic punctuation function, which helps you write down your thoughts more easily by automatically inserting periods, question marks and exclamation points.

The automatic punctuation function needs to be turned on manually from the settings.

As mentioned above, Microsoft has also created a new modern design for the dictation experience. If you use a physical keyboard, press the Win+H shortcut key, you will see the following screen.

If you are using a virtual keyboard, you can press and hold the microphone icon to enter the dictation function, as shown in the figure below.

Naijatechnews is informed that Microsoft has also introduced the function of using voice to stop and start the function instead of clicking on the icon. The new dictation experience will also provide you with tools to edit documents, including commands to delete or select certain parts of the text .

This newly added function will make the dictation function more powerful, flexible and useful than the current implementation.

Microsoft pointed out that Windows 10’s newly integrated speech recognition function is still under development and will eventually get better before its public release.

The voice input experience will be provided in the following regions and languages.

  • English: United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and India.
  • French: France and Canada.
  • Portuguese: Brazil.
  • Simplified Chinese: China.
  • Spanish: Mexico and Spain.
  • German, Italian and Japanese.

Similarly, it needs to be reminded that in Windows 10, you can still use the physical keyboard and virtual keyboard for voice input anywhere.
