Windows Latest reported that Microsoft is rolling out new optional updates for the Windows 10 20H2 version (updated in October 2020) and the 2004 version.
The Windows 10 KB4580364 patch is an optional update available for both Windows 10 version 20H2 and version 2004. This is due to the newly activated nature of Windows 10. When your device detects optional updates, it will be displayed under Update and Security>Windows Update>View Optional Updates.
The October optional update will upgrade the 2004 version of the system to Windows 10 Build 19041.610, and the 20H2 version of the system will get Windows 10 Build 19042.610.
Remember, if you skip today’s optional patch, you will receive the improvements included in this release on Patch Tuesday in November.
The following is the update content of Windows 10 KB4580364 (Build 19042.610):
With today’s update, Microsoft is now pushing the new “Meet now” feature to users who are running Windows 10 version 2009 and Windows 10 version 2004. Microsoft has released this feature for Windows 10 version 1909 and version 1903.
This feature is likely to be rolled out to all users on “Patch Tuesday” in November.
This new “Meet now” button is based on Skype. Skype has recently added a new Zoom-like free call feature that allows you to host meetings without registering for a Microsoft account.
The built-in “Meet now” feature of Windows 10 came at the right time, because many users are still looking for free services to connect with their friends and family, and to participate in meetings remotely without registering on any platform.
As you can see in the screenshot, the “Meet now” of Windows 10 is fast and simple. It is located in the system tray and allows you to create or join a video conference in a few seconds. To join the meeting, you can use the Edge browser or the Skype app, or you can create a unique link so that others can join without registering .
Windows 10 KB4580364 also comes with a long list of fixes and improvements. For example, this version fixes the problem that Internet Explorer users cannot use the Group Policy Editor to configure the home page.
Similarly, another reliability issue has been fixed, that is, the device will stop responding when the user uses the stylus for several hours.
Naijatechnews.com is informed that this optional cumulative update also solves a problem that caused some processors to report incorrect CPU usage in the Task Manager. Microsoft said it also fixed the Windows Subsystem for Linux 2 (WSL2) issue on Windows 10 ARM64 devices.
According to the update log, Microsoft has announced a known issue, the Japanese or Chinese Microsoft Input Method Editor (IME) may encounter problems.
