Microsoft today released the Windows 10 preview Build 20221 on the Dev development channel, which brings two new features, as well as some bug fixes and performance improvements.
After installing the latest Windows Insider Build version, users will be able to create and join meetings by clicking the new “Meet Now” icon notification area (system tray) in the taskbar. However, Microsoft clarified that this feature is not available to the internal testers of every Dev channel. Instead, the feature will be rolled out gradually. Naija Tech News is informed that the ability to fix notifications in the Your Phone application is another useful feature in Build 20221, but this will not be provided to every internal tester. Microsoft also plans to gradually roll out this feature. This update also contains important fixes and performance improvements.
The following is the specific update:
Introducing the “Meet Now” function in the Windows 10 taskbar
Earlier this year, Microsoft launched Meet Now in Skype. With just two clicks, you can easily connect with anyone for free, and each call can last for 24 hours. Today, Microsoft announced that it will expand this feature in Windows 10, bringing the “Meet Now” feature to the taskbar. Now, you can easily set up a video call by clicking the “Meet Now” icon in the notification area (system tray) of the taskbar in Windows 10, and immediately connect with friends and family. No registration or download required.
Create a meeting.
Join the meeting.
This feature was first introduced to a part of the internal testers in the Dev channel to help quickly identify issues that may affect performance and reliability. They will gradually be extended to everyone in the Dev channel.
Your Phone notification has a new fixed function
Microsoft announced that your mobile app has a new fixed feature that integrates with notification sources. With the notification pinning function, you can easily pin important notifications and save them to the top of your feed so that you can access them at any time and distinguish them from other notifications. To try this feature, find a notification you want to Pin, and click the ellipsis in the overflow menu, where you will see the option of “Pin Live Notification”.
Since the notification will now be fixed at the top of your feed, you no longer need to worry about losing the notification, you can easily access the thread and use all the features you like, such as online replies. When you no longer need the notification thread, you can simply click the unpin icon to cancel it.
This is a gradual rollout process, so it may take a few days to display the Pin notification function in your mobile app.
