The aim of this post is to present the latest MTN data plans. Also I have added other data services related to buying and using a data plan; these include how to manually configure MTN Internet settings and how to stop auto-renewal of MTN data.
Blackberry data plan has been stopped by MTN, so all the plans presented in this post work on PC, tablet, and all smartphones, expect Blackberry.

MTN data plans can be unofficially categorized into two: the standard data plans and the social media plans. The standard data plans come in daily, weekly and monthly. The social media plans are either weekly or monthly, and they are popularly regarded as MTN Goody Bag Social.

MTN Goody Bag Social Data Plan
Like most other ISPs in Nigeria, MTN also allows subscription only to some popular social networks. MTN named this special type of data plan the MTN Goody Bag Social, and with the plan, subscribers can subscribe to data that allows them to use a particular social network.
Each MTN Goody Bag Social Data plan costs ₦25 in a week and ₦60 in a month. Below are the data plan under the MTN Goody Bag Social:
- Facebook Weekly Bundle: This Goody Bag data plan gives you nonstop access to Facebook for 7 days. To activate the MTN Facebook Weekly Bundle text FBW to 131.
- Facebook Monthly Bundle: This gives access to Facebook for 30 days. To activate the MTN Facebook Monthly Bundle text FBM to 131.
- Twitter Weekly Bundle: This Goody Bag data plan gives you nonstop access to Twitter for 7 days. To activate the MTN Twitter Weekly Bundle text TWTW to 131.
- Twitter Monthly Bundle: This gives access to Twitter for 30 days. To activate the MTN Twitter Monthly Bundle text TWTM to 131.
- Whatsapp Weekly Bundle: This Goody Bag data plan gives you nonstop access to Whatsapp for 7 days. To activate the MTN Whatsapp Weekly Bundle text WAW to 131.

If you don’t want to disturb yourself memorizing the code of each MTN Good Bag Social plan, just memorize *662#. This code takes you directly to all available data plan on MTN Good Bag Social, and more.
MTN Internet Settings
On Android phones and iPhones, MTN internet settings is automatically configured into the phones. But if for any reason it is not automatically configured on your phone, or you are using a universal modem or WiFi that requires manual configuration, see the MTN Internet settings below:

Access Point Name (APN): web.gprs.mtnnigeria.net
IP Address: 10.199.212.2
Port: 8080
Username: web
Password: web
When your Internet settings is configured, choose the plan that suits you and subscribe. After subscribing to any MTN Data Plan, it is a custom for MTN (and other networks in Nigeria) to auto-renew subscription. If you don’t want this, follow the step below to stop the auto-renewal of your data plan.
How to Stop Auto-Renewal of MTN Data Plan
To stop or deactivate auto-renewal of MTN data plan, text stopdata to 131. You must always send this message every time you make a subscription, or else MTN will auto-renew your subscription any day it expires and you have the required subscription balance on your line.
Conclusion
With all the subscription codes network providers require us for transaction on our phone, not to talk of the ones banks also require of us to transfer money, it is easy to forget the MTN data plan codes listed in this post. However any time you forget the code for a particular data plan, just dial *131#.
*131# is the root-base of all MTN data plan; you can always navigate to your desired data plan using the code.
