Musk: Humans should pay close attention to humanoid robots
During the world’s first AI Summit held recently at Bletchley Park in the UK, Musk had a one-on-one meeting with British Prime Minister Sunak and talked about AI, robots and other topics.
According to Agence France-Presse, Musk believes that the future of AI will be an “era of abundance” where people will generally have high incomes rather than basic incomes, while also warning about humanoid robots that may chase humans.
Musk believes that one day humans will “no longer have to work.” By then, perhaps only those hoping for “personal satisfaction” will work. AI is like a magical elf that can realize any wish humans want. How to find the meaning of life will be a major challenge facing humans .
When talking about humanoid robots, Musk emphasized that they can follow humans anywhere and “we should pay close attention to them . ” At the same time, he stressed the importance of physical switches. “Since the robot can follow you to the end of the world, what if one day the robot’s software is updated and becomes no longer so friendly?”
To which Sunak replied, “In those movies about robots that we’ve all seen, the ending usually involves turning them off.”
Naijatechnews previously reported that Musk emphasized at the summit that AI is one of the “biggest threats” to mankind. This is the first time in human history that something much smarter than us has appeared. It is not clear whether such a thing can be controlled ( AI), “but I think we can aspire to steer it in a direction that benefits humanity.”
“I’m not sure what the rules of fairness are, but you have to start with insight before you have oversight,” Musk said.
At this summit, Wu Zhaohui, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, led a delegation to attend the summit, participated in discussions on artificial intelligence security and other issues, actively promoted the “Global Artificial Intelligence Governance Initiative” proposed by China, and will conduct bilateral talks with relevant countries. The initiative systematically elaborates on China’s plan for AI governance around three aspects: AI development, security, and governance.
