Nokia’s chief marketing officer, Barry French, will leave at the end of 2020, and the company’s high-level personnel changes under the leadership of its new CEO, Pekka Lundmark, are continuing.
Nokia did not issue a formal statement announcing Frankie’s departure, and instead announced the matter on LinkedIn. No reason was given for his departure.
Lundmark said in his comments that Frankie has been “at the core of the transformation of Nokia as a leader in network infrastructure” and expressed his gratitude for his support since taking over as CEO.
Frankie joined Nokia in 2006 and played a key role in the creation of Nokia Siemens Networks and the completion of the acquisition of Alcatel-Lucent. In 2014, he became responsible for promoting Nokia’s brand. There is no update on potential successors.
A week after Lundmark announced a comprehensive reorganization of the business unit and broader strategy, Frank left Nokia.
Lundmark explained that a thorough reform of the business will make it abandon the strategy of providing end-to-end solutions and adopt a more focused approach.
Under the new structure, the company will create four core business units, including management changes.
