Oculus Quest 2 VR all-in-one machine released: the first Snapdragon XR2, the most immersive VR

On today’s Facebook Connect, the company officially released the Oculus Quest 2 VR all-in-one machine, known as its most powerful and immersive standalone VR headset. The release date is scheduled for October 13th. Pre-orders will start today, starting at $300.

Oculus Quest 2 uses the powerful Snapdragon XR2 chip for the first release, supplemented by 6GB of memory , which is a great improvement over the previous generation. The chip will power a brand-new LCD display with a single-eye resolution of 1832×1920. The display can achieve a 90Hz refresh rate , but it will be initially provided as an experimental feature, and then unlocked by default after a period of launch.

The IPD adjustment of Quest 2 is no longer continuous, but can be set between 58mm, 63mm and 68mm.

Quest 2 has also been replaced with a new handle , ergonomics has been improved, and battery life is stronger.

Although Quest 2 will be equipped with a soft headband, Oculus also announced two rigid headbands, which will be sold as official accessories: Elite Strap and Elite Battery Strap. Both headbands are designed to act as counterweights for Quest 2. of.

Quest 2 is a bit smaller than its predecessor, weighing 503 grams, which is about 10% lighter than the original Quest. Despite the improved processor and a slimmer figure, Oculus stated that the battery life should be the same as the previous generation, at 2-3 hours.

In addition to announcing “Quest 2”, Oculus also confirmed that some new content will land on Quest, including “Assassin’s Creed and Splinter Cell” VR games will exclusively land on Oculus, as well as “Climb 2” and “Warhammer 40,000: Sister”.
