In December last year, OPPO demonstrated for the first time an under-screen camera phone prototype at its 2019 Future Technology Conference. Recently, a prototype was exposed. It is said that this is an OPPO smartphone with under-screen camera technology .
ZTE first used off-screen camera technology on the Axon 20 5G. The phone is a mid-range model designed to test the waters. The feedback is not particularly impressive, especially the quality of the selfie camera is not outstanding. OPPO may improve this on its own devices.
The device uses a full-screen design without bangs, and a camera is embedded under the screen. The exposed pictures do not show the back design of the model, but OPPO’s earlier patent application shows that the device will be equipped with a circular camera design on the back. Currently, the only OPPO model with this camera design is Ace2. Therefore, the under-screen phone may be launched as OPPO Ace3.
Xiaomi has also been developing under-screen camera technology, and it is expected that Xiaomi’s own models will not be unveiled until next year, as is OPPO.
