Osun State University: Other things You Should Know about the School
Osun State University is a multi-campus university established by Osun State Government. The university presently operates six campuses distributed across the six geopolitical zones of the state. Since its establishment in 2006, the university has been on the rise, attracting students from various states in Nigeria. The university was approved Osun State University the same year, marking it as the 30th State University and the 80th University in the Nigerian university system.
The campuses are strategically distributed across the state. Faculty of Law is situated in Ifetedo while campuses for Health Sciences, Humanities and Culture, Social Science and Management, Education and Agriculture are situated in Osogbo, Ikire, Okuku, Ipeti Ijesha and Ejigbo respectively.
Osun State University had its first convocation ceremony in 2011 under the administration of state Governor Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola. The university had a reputation of not being involved in the Nationwide ASUU strike until the 2013 ASUU strike which lasted for over five months. The university also has a reputation [not specific enough to verify] as one of the fastest universities in Nigeria, based on the quick academic calendar the school operates.
