Introduction: The Agon AG271QG monitor in brief

Equipped with NVIDIA G-Sync , a very fast refresh rate of 165 Hz and a high resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels), AOC ensures that you have nothing to complain about with this gaming monitor in terms of specifications. When we look at the design from the front, we see a simple and sleek design. A completely black front with a stainless steel-look standard for the monitor has been chosen. At the back, it is black combined with a red V-shape. Design is of course what is personal, but I have to say that I think it looks very cool.

At the back you will also find the various connection options of the AG271QG such as an HDMI port, Displayport and two USB ports. On the side are two more USB ports, one of which is a USB fast charge port. Connections for your microphone and headset can also be found on the side. As an extra convenience, there is also a holder on the side to which you can hang your headset.

Usage, sound and picture quality

The monitor is very easy to install and can really be called a Plug and Play monitor. The menu operation is also easy and smooth. However, the menu that I see is very dated, something I don’t really expect on a monitor in this day and age. So a minus, but something that people who don’t get much into the menu can quickly get over. The image quality of the AG271QG is perfect. You can view the image from different angles. The combination of G-sync, the high resolution and a fast response time (4 ms) ensure a wonderful experience while gaming. The G-sync technology ensures that the display adapts to the frames produced by the video card. This way you have 1 on 1 feedback of the image and you no longer have blurry fill frames.

The monitor also has built-in speakers. Personally, I never use this, but if you want to listen to music without headphones, a reasonable quality sound comes out. If you want something more than external speakers or headphones, it is recommended.

Conclusion and availability

With the AOC Agon AG271QG you get a high-quality monitor that offers enormous value for money. The purchase price, on the other hand, is also on the high side since it can be found online from € 699, which can actually be regarded as the only real downside.
