Earlier this month, Samsung released the Galaxy A42 5G as its cheapest 5G smartphone. At that time, Samsung revealed its main specifications, prices and availability. However, it did not mention the processor information of this device.
Dealntech recently shared a screenshot of the source code of the Galaxy A42 5G Geekbench benchmark. The model of the mobile phone SM-A426B is mentioned in the screenshot. The source code also shows that the chipset powering the Galaxy A42 5G uses an eight-core design, including two cores clocked at 2.21 GHz and six cores clocked at 1.80 GHz. In addition, this SoC also integrates the Adreno 619 graphics chip.
Previous speculation claimed that the Galaxy A42 5G will be equipped with the Snapdragon 690 5G chip. However, the configuration of the processor core and CPU appearing on the running sub-platform matches the newly released Snapdragon 750G chip . Therefore, the media claimed that the Galaxy A42 5G may be the first mobile phone equipped with the Snapdragon 750G chip.
The Galaxy A42 5G is priced at 369 Euros, about 2928 yuan, and is scheduled to be launched in Europe in November. The phone is equipped with a 6.6-inch S-AMOLED display, supports FHD+ resolution, and is equipped with a 5000mAh battery.
