Samsung Display has applied for an export license to continue to supply Huawei

On September 10, according to foreign media reports, an industry insider said that Samsung Display , a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics , has applied for an export license to continue to supply Huawei .

The US export restrictions on Huawei will take effect next week, and the US restrictions and bans cover chips required for display operations.

Samsung Display’s competitor, LG Display, has issued a statement saying that due to limited panel shipments to Huawei, the US restrictions have minimal impact on LG Display and the company will continue to diversify its customer base.

Samsung Display declined to comment on foreign media.
