Recently, some users of Apple Watch Series 3 complained that the update of watchOS 7 caused the device to crash and shut down, which may be an early problem of the operating system.
The boot version update of a new operating system usually brings some initial problems, which are usually fixed in subsequent updates. For watchOS 7, it seems that Apple Watch Series 3 has suffered the “biggest” trouble.
In a post in the Apple Support Forum, some Series 3 users are addressing the stability issue of watchOS 7 on their devices , and users stated that the issue has been there since installing this update. Common complaints include silent crashes and restarts, and battery drain issues.
Other users mentioned being forced to reset their Apple Watch to install watchOS, and slowly loading complex features after restarting. Some users also reported delays in weather updates and the need to re-enter their passwords while still wearing the Apple Watch.
In a few cases, due to the limited storage capacity remaining on the device, users have taken steps to clear Apple Watch to factory reset before the update, but the problem still exists.
The recently released watchOS 7.0.1 does not seem to solve any problems affected by it. Apple is currently beta testing the watchOS 7.1 update, but it is more likely to release a smaller incremental update to fix the bug first.
