Soon after yesterday’s PlayStation 5 show, Sony quietly confirmed that several PS5 exclusive games will also be launched on this generation of PS4 consoles. Specifically, these games are Marvel’s “Spider-Man: Miles-Morales”, “Horizon Forbidden Zone”, “Sark Boys Adventure”.
Some fans were puzzled after discovering this news, because Sony has been advocating the need for customized games to showcase the new generation of hardware, and these games can only run on PlayStation 5.
In an interview with The Washington Post, President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Jim Ryan, said that this is to provide users with choices, and no one should be disappointed : “No one should be disappointed. These games are fully developed. Take advantage of the new features of PS5, and we have an upgrade path for PS4 users to get the PS5 version for free.”
This is exactly what Microsoft has always held. Microsoft has stated that there will not be any Xbox Series S/X exclusive games for at least a few years , while Sony has always stated that PS5 exclusive games cannot be used on older consoles.
Naijatechnews has learned that the Sony PS5 will debut in North America, Japan, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea on November 12, and will land in other regions a week later. The digital version is priced at $399, and the version with a UHD Blu-ray drive is $499.
