According to reports, streaming music service provider Spotify criticized its rival Apple on Tuesday, saying that its newly launched subscription bundling service abused its dominant market position and favored the company’s own Apple Music music service.
Spotify said that the Apple One bundled service announced by Apple on Tuesday is not conducive to streaming music competitors . The monthly subscription fee for Spotify and Apple’s streaming music service is US$10, but the Apple One package bundles it with other services such as TV or video games, and the monthly subscription fee starts at US$15.
“We call on the competition authorities to take urgent action to limit Apple’s anti-competitive behavior. If this behavior is not curbed, it will cause irreparable harm to the developer community and threaten our collective listening, learning, creating and connecting Freedom.” Spotify said.
Apple issued a statement stating that the target of this bundled service is existing users, and said that for “every Apple service, customers can find and use alternative services.”
