Tesla’s License Blocked in Sweden & Rejected by court

According to Reuters, the Swedish Court of Appeal rejected Tesla’s request to force the postal company PostNord (Swedish Post) to provide license plates, ruling that PostNord does not need to provide Tesla with license plates for the time being.

However, although PostNord workers refused to deliver license plates to Tesla, Swedish media reported that Tesla had found a way to bypass the union and required car buyers to order the license plates themselves .

Iwe had previously reported that Tesla was fighting with Swedish labor organizations. IF Metall launched a mechanical worker strike on October 27 and refused to provide services for Tesla cars because it did not accept collective bargaining.

On November 20, PostNord workers participated in a strike, forcing Tesla to sign a collective bargaining agreement for Swedish machinists . The transport department declined to deliver the plates by other means, saying PostNord was contractually required to be used .

Regarding this ruling, Gabriella Lavecchia, president of the trade union Seko, said in an email: “It is gratifying that the Court of Appeal has reached the only reasonable conclusion that the constitutionally protected right to strike takes precedence over special Silla’s interests.”
