On September 11, according to foreign media reports, on Wednesday, Tesla’s rival in the United States, an electric car startup Lucid Motors, released its first electric car, Lucid Air .
It is reported that the new car has a total of 4 models with a starting price of 80,000 US dollars (about 546,000 yuan) in the United States, a cruising range of 517 miles (about 832 kilometers), and an acceleration time of 2.5 seconds from 100 kilometers.
Lucid Motors is regarded as Tesla’s strongest American competitor. The company originally planned to officially release Lucid Air at the New York Auto Show in April this year. However, due to the cancellation of the New York Auto Show due to the new crown epidemic, the company postponed the release of this car to August this year.
However, in June this year, Lucid Motors announced that it will release Lucid Air online on September 9 this year.
It is reported that this car will be produced in Lucid Motors’ new plant in Arizona, USA, and will be delivered to customers in early 2021.
In November last year, the company began construction of its electric car plant in Arizona, which is expected to be completed and put into use in November this year. By 2022, the factory is expected to have as many as 2,000 employees.
According to reports, Tesla’s Cybertruck is comparable to Lucid Air in terms of range and performance specifications, while also providing versatility for tasks such as work and camping.
Tesla’s three-motor version of Cybertruck starts at $69,990, has a cruising range of more than 500 miles, and an acceleration time of 2.9 seconds from 100 kilometers. Cybertruck’s technology shows that Tesla has the ability to compete with Lucid Air in terms of range and performance.
