Twitter launched a new feature on Tuesday that allows users to limit the number of people who reply to their tweets, giving account holders more control over conversations on their pages.
Twitter said that all accounts, including official accounts, can now choose who is allowed to reply to their tweets when writing new tweets. Users can choose from three groups of people-everyone, only the people they follow and the people mentioned in the tweet.
Twitter began testing this feature in May. Twitter stated that all users can continue to like and repost tweets, but if they are excluded by the tweet author, they cannot reply to the tweet.
This feature can enable Twitter users to have better conversations and limit the exposure of tweets to Internet trolls and abusers.
