U.S. conference members: Google implements a forced monopoly to benefit its business
On Tuesday, local time, U.S. senators from both parties stated in a hearing in the Senate that Alphabet’s Google has a clear dominant position in the search, online video, and ad technology markets. The company has implemented compulsive monopolies to make itself Business benefits from this market position .
“You (Google) control YouTube and search, both of which are monopolistic platforms; you control a large amount of consumer data, which is generated from your consumer-facing platforms-Gmail, Google Maps, G Suite, etc. ,” said Republican Senator Josh Hawley from Missouri. “Then you use this data in ad technology, which constitutes your advantage. It all looks like, in a classic Compulsive monopoly in the case of tying.”
