Pre-requisites:

Make a proper backup of all your data such as SMS, contacts, call logs, media files etc before proceeding to the installation guide. In case anything goes wrong then you’ll be able to restore your data back.
This guide containing Resurrection Remix Android 7.1.1 ROM is working only with T-Mobile Galaxy S3 SGH-T999. Do not try to install it any other device or incorrect variant.

Your Galaxy S3 should be rooted and have the latest version of a custom recovery like ClockworkMod recovery installed.
Check the battery level of your phone, it should be charged at least about 70% to avoid unexpected shutdowns.

Downloads

1 – First, download Resurrection Remix Android 7.1.1 ROM and Google Apps on the desktop of your PC for Galaxy S3.

2 – Connect your Galaxy S3 with PC using its USB data cable and mount its USB memory.

3 – Transfer the Android 7.1.1 ROM zip and Google Apps zip files to your SD card (already downloaded from the above links) to the root folder of SD Card.

4 – Next, power OFF the phone in order to boot into Recovery Mode and disconnect from the USB cable.

5 – Power ON the phone while pressing and holding Volume Up + Home + Power buttons at the same time to get into Recovery Mode.

6 – While your phone is now in Recovery Mode, select perform a full data wipe by selecting “wipe data/factory reset”. You can use the Power button in Recovery Mode to select an option.

7 – In the Recovery Mode, perform a cache wipe by selecting “wipe cache partition”.

Please Note that we recommend performing a wipe of your dalvik cache to avoid boot loops or any other errors. From CWM recovery, go to ‘advanced’ and then select “wipe dalvik cache”.

8 – Navigate to the main menu of recovery and select “install zip from SD card”.

9 – Now select “choose zip from sdcard”. Browse and select the Android 7.1.1 ROM zip file that you have already transferred to your SD card, select it using the Power button. Start the installation process.

10 – Flash Google Apps package on the phone by repeating the above step.

11 – Once the installation is finished successfully, go to “+++++Go Back+++++” and reboot the phone by selecting “reboot system now” from the recovery menu.

Samsung T-Mobile Galaxy S3 SGH-T999 will boot now and it may take about 4 to 5 minutes to boot for the first time after installation.

Done! You have successfully updated T-Mobile Galaxy S3 to Resurrection Remix Android 7.1.1 Nougat custom ROM.
