Volkswagen releases ID.4 electric car to challenge Tesla, with a cruising range of only 400 kilometers

On September 24, according to foreign media reports, Volkswagen released the ID.4 electric car on Wednesday to challenge Tesla. ID.4 is Volkswagen’s first electric SUV (sport utility vehicle).

However, Volkswagen estimates that the full range of the ID.4 battery is only 250 miles (about 400 kilometers), which is 316 miles compared to Tesla’s Model Y.

ID.4 A digital assistant that has functions such as driving assistance systems, wireless software updates, etc., and can be activated by the “Hello ID” command.

The starting price of ID.4 is expected to be around US$40,000. ID.4 is currently only produced in Germany and will be produced in Volkswagen’s US plant next year, as well as in China.

ID.4 All models in this family are named with ID. as the prefix. ID. stands for intelligent design, identity recognition and forward-looking technology. ID. is not an abbreviation of a specific term, but a symbol of the characteristics of these models: zero-emission autonomous driving, intuitive operation and personalized network.
