Xiaomi Mi Box S got 3 consecutive beta programs so far, before rolling out an Android 9 Pie stable build a couple of months ago. Today, Xiaomi released a 4th Android 9 Pie beta update for the Mi Box S/4K with build OTA4 Beta 0. This new update features a couple of bug fixes related to HDMI. So download and install the latest Mi Box S/4K Android 9 Pie OTA4 Beta 0 update.
If you don’t already know, Xiaomi recently released a new device called Mi Box 4K for the Asian market, more specifically in India. The 4K has the same specifications as that of the Mi Box S. It’s just a re-branded device with only a change in the name. So all the updates released for Mi Box S are compatible with the Mi Box 4K; including this one.
While the Mi Box 4K released with Android 9 Pie out of the box, there may have been some minor bugs that need some attention. Hence, the 4th beta program. The latest beta with build 3015 is still based on Android 9 Pie and not Android 10. We may or may not see an Android TV 10 update for the two devices. Meanwhile, the OTA4 Beta 0 OTA fixes HDMI autorefresh issue. It also brings support for BT Gamepad. It also added a new screensaver.
