Washington, D.C., distributes free Apple AirTags to residents to combat car theft

Muriel Bowser, the mayor of Washington, DC, signed a new plan on Wednesday to distribute free Apple AirTags to residents in communities where vehicle thefts occur more frequently. So that if the vehicle is stolen, the vehicle can be tracked.

Bowser said that three related events will be held in the next few months. Users who want to apply will need to provide proof of residence and an address designated by the police service area. The police will help residents “install” AirTags in their cars. .
