MultiChoice increases GOTV, DSTV subscription prices this new month of November, 2023.
GOTV and DSTV subscription prices have been increased by MultiChoice in additional +N1,000 to all DSTV plans and +N650 to all GOTV plans as well.
Naijatechnews reports that MultiChoice Nigeria, a pay TV service provider, on Monday, November 1, 2023, made an upward review of prices on DStv and GOtv packages and effective from November 6th, 2023.
Naijatechnews understands that a notification and text message was sent to customers by MultiChoice Nigeria revealed that the new GOTV subscription price and new DSTV subscription price increased will commence from November 6th, 2023.
In the message to its customers, MultiChoice Nigeria the new GOTV subscription price and new DSTV subscription price adjustment was due to the rising costs of business operations.
“Please note that from November 6, your monthly subscription (premium) will be N29,500.
Meanwhile, NaijaTechNews also noticed the fresh rates hike of DSTV packages means the price of the Compact+ bouquet would move to N19,800 from previously N16,500 monthly while subscribers on the Compact bouquet will now pay N12,500 as against N10,500; while those on Confam package are set to pay N7,400 compared to the previous N6,200, Supa N7,600, Max N5,700, Jolli N3,950, Jinga N2,700
Under the new price regime, viewers on DStv Yanga N4,200.
Similarly, subscribers on the GOtv Supa package will now pay N7,050 as against N6,400; with those on GOtv Max expected to pay N5,500 as against N4,850. More so, the GOtv Jolli package price will increase to N3,950 from N3,300; while that of the GOtv Jinja and GOtv Lite will rise from N2,250 to N2,900; and from 1,100 to N1,750, respectively.
However, despite the rate increases of GOTV and DSTV packages, MultiChoice Nigeria also made a price lock offer to subscribers who may renew their subscriptions before their due dates.
The offer by the pay-tv service provider, which is meant to cushion the effect of the price review, allows GOTV and DSTV customers to pay the old rates for 12 months if they pay monthly before the expiration of their subscriptions. Similarly, it grants subscribers (who pay for one year at a go, before the new prices kick in) the opportunity to pay the old tariffs.
