Reuters reported that on Friday, local time in the United States, a federal judge in Pennsylvania blocked an executive order from the US Department of Commerce. The lawsuit was initiated by three TikTok creators. This is another judge’s decision in favor of TikTok after the US judge suspended the download ban on the TikTok app store on September 27.
U.S. Federal Judge Wendy Beetlestone ordered the U.S. Department of Commerce to delay the prohibition of providing data hosting services, content transmission services and other technical transactions for TikTok in the United States.
Judge Bertelston stated in the ruling that the executive order would “result in the closure of a creative platform used by 700 million people worldwide. Of all TikTok users, more than 100 million are in the US, including at least 50 million daily active users”.
Naijatechnews.com learned that the US Department of Commerce did not immediately comment.

The order was originally scheduled to take effect later in the day.
On November 4, Judge Nichols will also hold a hearing on other aspects of the above-mentioned Ministry of Commerce injunction.
In this lawsuit, Judge Bertelston’s ruling also blocked the download ban on the TikTok app store.
TikTok said in a statement that it was very moved by the support given by users, “They are making unremitting efforts to protect their right of expression.”
