Samsung Galaxy S22 price, review, and full specifications. The Samsung Galaxy S22 is the standard model in the South Korean giant’s latest range of flagship phones, sitting below a bigger sibling in the S22 Plus and a giant equivalent in the S22 Ultra.
The Galaxy S22 has a 6.1-inch display – that’s 0.1 inches smaller than its predecessor, a difference so minor you wouldn’t know it without comparing the devices side-by-side. The panel has an FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 240Hz touch input rate, and uses AMOLED tech.
Samsung is sticking with its two-chipset policy for the S22 series: if you live in the US or Asia, you’re getting a phone with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, while people in Europe and the rest of the world will get Samsung’s own Exynos 2200. Both chips are paired with 8GB RAM, and either 128GB or 256GB storage depending on which version you opt for, and there’s 5G support. The software here is Samsung’s One UI, which users of the brand’s devices will be familiar with, and it’s laid over Android 12.

Apart from the usual main and ultra-wide cameras, Samsung pulled a weird trick with the S20 and S21. Those phones did not have a “true” telephoto lens but instead used a 64MP sensor that barely had any zoom (1.1X) and just cropped in to achieve an advertised 3X zoom level. This changes in the Galaxy S22, the first in a while to get a “true” 3X zoom lens.
The Galaxy S22 debuts with Samsung’s One UI 4.1 interface for Android 12. If you like previous iterations of Samsung’s One UI, this edition will suit you just fine, particularly as Samsung has added customization and privacy features. You can see which apps are requesting permissions, and managing those permissions is a bit more streamlined.
