Alan Wake 2 launches patch 1.0.16.1, lowering minimum PC requirements

This patch focuses on improving game performance for NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10 series graphics cards, optimizing rendering for “GPUs that do not support grid shaders”, meaning that the minimum GPU requirements are reduced to GTX 1070 and Radeon RX 5600 XT, rather than the previous GeForce RTX 2060 and Radeon RX 6600. , the frame rate is increased by up to 100%.

The game “Alan Killer 2” mainly relies on DirectX 12 Ultimate’s mesh shader for rendering, so the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10 series graphics card does not perform well when running this game.

According to a report yesterday, Shumaoshe pointed out in a new video that the patch launched today will also improve modern Ada graphics cards such as GeForce RTX 4070, but the improvement effect is “not so obvious.”

In February this year, Remedy announced through a press release that its game “Alan Killer 2”, released in October last year, has become the company’s fastest-growing game to date. Remedy said that as of the end of December 2023, the work had sold 1 million copies, and as of early February this year, the work had sold 1.3 million copies.
