Design

Similar to all Lenovo Yoga laptops, this portable, ultra-thin laptop was built using metal materials. It has round rear edges and corners and measures 320.3mm x 215.6mm x 14.5-15.7mm while weighing 1.35 kg.

It comes in two finishes: Mica, which is kind of a rosy silver that looks almost gold under warmer lighting, and Iron Grey, which is a darker color similar to Apple’s Space Gray MacBooks.

Compare to its predecessor, Yoga C930, the Lenovo Yoga C940 lid has some slight changes done. There is a lip, that makes it easy to open inside the top bezel and create enough space for the 720p webcam.

This Yoga conventional all-in-one laptop has a 360-degree hinge that allows you to use it in laptop mode, fold it down into a tablet, or prop the display up in either stand or tent modes.

Lenovo put the soundbar speakers in the 360-degree hinge and there are two more on the bottom of the laptop. This speaker configuration makes for a sound that is far better than your average laptop.

The base chassis has smooth matte aluminum surfaces that hide fingerprints well. It also hosts a backlit keyboard with large, curved keycaps made of the same material as the body. They have decent travel distance considering how thin the laptop is, and a large armrest to accommodate the small and large hands alike.

Lenovo Yoga C940 also has a 4.1 x 2.6-inch touchpad and a stylus pen at the rear of the laptop.

Above all, for interface connectivity, this laptop comes with two Thunderbolt 3 ports and a USB Type-A port on the left side right next to a headphone/mic jack. The right side of the laptop is uninterrupted apart from a power button.

Display

The Lenovo Yoga C940  has two display options: a 1080p FHD version and a UHD 4K panel.

The Full HD version of the laptop is an IPS touchscreen display with 1920 x 1080 resolution that offers stunning images even at that limited resolution, making it ideal for getting work done without being too much of a drain on the battery. This display model peaked at 339 nits.

The 3840 x 2160 4K UHD panel, however,  has a maximum brightness of 500 nits and it is certified for HDR400. It is built on the IPS panel and offers a wide viewing angle.

Both display panel has multi-touch input capabilities, too. It’ll recognize up to 10 touch points at a time.

Performance

On the inside, the Lenovo Yoga C940 performance has been upgraded with the newest Intel Comet Lake processors which offer up to four-cores.

The 10th Gen Intel Core i7-1065G7 Processor is a power-efficient quad-core SoC with 4-cores, 8 threads, and clocked at 1.3 GHz – 3.9 GHz using Turbo Boost. This CPU is paired with an Integrated Intel Iris Plus Graphics card which boosts up to 1.10 GHz.

In addition, Yoga C940 supports up to 16GB RAM and both models have 512GB SSDs which can be configured up to 1TB PCIe SSD.

For a smooth user experience and better interface, the Lenovo Yoga C940 run on Windows 10 Pro operating system out-of-the-box.

Battery

Lenovo Yoga C940 comes with a 4 Cell 60Wh internal battery that can last up to 12 hours from a full charge. It also comes with Lenovo’s Rapid Charge utility, hence, you can raise the battery level to 80% in just one hour. Inside the box, the laptop comes with a 65W  AC Adapter to enhance the charging process.

Other Features

Like most high-end laptops, on the Yoga C940, Lenovo packages its software tools into an app called Vantage. Vantage is a one-stop system management shop that takes care of updating drivers and the system BIOS.
