Talking about the megapixel race, Samsung is at the forefront of those who started making high-resolution image sensors. The company already has a 200 megapixel sensor in its portfolio. It is known that Xiaomi and vivo are eyeing the sensor with a record resolution, which they want to install in their mid-range devices.

This sensor is definitely not going be available in the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. In the new flagship, they decided to squeeze the maximum potential out of the 108-megapixel sensor. But in 2023, the Galaxy S23 Ultra may well receive a 200-megapixel ISOCELL HP1 sensor. The flagship camera will allow you to shoot video in 4K and 8K formats with a wide viewing angle. This prediction can be fully trusted, because it was made by the famous network insider Ice Universe, who was more than once accurate in his predictions.

As a reminder, the ISOCELL HP1 was unveiled in September and is the world’s first mobile camera sensor to offer 200MP resolution. The size of each pixel is 0.64 µm, and in normal mode, images are output with a resolution of 50 megapixels.

Here we have implemented pixel binning when 16 neighboring pixels are combined into one large 2.56-micron size, and this allows you to get high-quality 12.5-megapixel photos in low ambient light conditions. ISOCELL HP1 is capable of recording video in 8K format at 30 frames per second; and 4K at 120 frames per second.
