SpaceX Completed the Rocket “Carpooling” Mission, Sending 90 Payloads to the Space

SpaceX completed the Transporter-9 “carpooling” mission via the Falcon 9 launch vehicle on Saturday (November 11). The first stage of the rocket returned to the ground about 7.5 minutes after liftoff. , and completed a vertical landing at Vandenberg.

According to SpaceX’s mission description, this is the 12th launch and landing of this booster.

According to the mission description, the mission carries 90 payloads to serve a variety of customers, “including CubeSats, microsatellites and orbital transfer vehicles that will deploy the spacecraft at a later time.” Deployed to low Earth orbit within 54 to 85.5 minutes of launch.

While 90 payloads is certainly a lot, it doesn’t exceed the previous record. SpaceX’s Transporter-1 mission launched 143 satellites into orbit in January 2021, and the Transporter-6 mission launched in January last year also carried 114 satellites.

Data shows that Transporter-9 is SpaceX’s 82nd launch mission in 2023, breaking the company’s record for the number of launches in a single year (Naijatechnews Note: a total of 61 launches in 2022). It is expected that more launches will be launched in the next more than a month. Records will be refreshed continuously.
