The world’s first 240W flash charge device gets a launch date

The mobile phone industry is evolving and some mind-blowing techs are coming into the market. Over the past few years, there has been an explosion in fast charging capacity from 25W to over 200W. Chinese mobile phone brands are at the hub of this tremendous increase in charging capacity. The likes of Apple and Samsung are still stuck at 20+W while other Chinese brands are already at 100W. A few days ago, the Realme brand held a charging tech communication event. At this event, the company officially launched the industry’s strongest 240W flash charge technology.

The company also announced that the Realme GT Neo5 will be the first device to use the 240W flash charge tech. In addition, Realme announced that the Realme GT Neo5 will launch in February this year. According to the latest news, the Realme GT Neo5 series has been certified in China. This series will have two models and the major difference will be the charging capacity. The device with model number RMX3708 will use the 240W flash charge. However, the device with model number RMX3706 will come with a 150W fast charge.

240W flash charge is the peak for the USB Type-C interface

It is worth noting that the 240W flash charge has hit the peak of the USB Type-C port. This is the peak of mobile phone fast charge at the moment before another interface will be developed. However, since USB Type-C is the standard for mobile devices in Europe, developing a new faster interface may not be lucrative. Thus, the R&D of the tech may not get much funding.

The other configurations of the two models should be consistent. Judging from the exposed info, the device will use a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip. This chip has an excellent reputation. The screen is also a highlight. The Realme GT Neo5 series will use a 1.5K resolution high-refresh screen, which can take into account battery life and smoothness. It supports an ultra-high refresh rate of 144Hz and high-frequency PWM dimming, which is more eye-friendly.
