Hello everyone, today we will be looking at the different night data packages that are available to mtn subscribers. This review will guide and provide you with all the information you need to know about the different mtn night data plans, its activation codes, validity periods and charges.

There are currently 3 night data plans that can be used can be used by mtn subscribers, there is a 3GB night plan that cost N2500, a 4.5GB night and day plan that also cost N2500 and lastly the latest night plan that costs just N25 which gives you 500MB worth of data.
Now let’s analyze them one after the other, for the 3GB night plan you can enjoy night browsing starting from 9:00pm to 6:00am everyday. This 3GB night plan costs N2500 and is valid for 30 days (one month). To activate this service plan is easy, all you have to do is dial *109# or simply send “102” to 131. One good benefit of using this plan is that you will be given a bonus of 1.5GB that can be used at ANY time of the day. So at the end of the day you have a total of 4.5GB with just N2500. When you exhaust this 1.5GB bonus data, you will be only allowed to use the 3GB data (if it isn’t exhausted yet) at night. This service plan is best for people who make use of data mostly at nights, maybe for work, movie downloads, software downloads, game downloads and lots more.
For the second night plan which is 4.5GB worth of data for N2500. This 4.5GB data can be used both at night and during the day. Though this plan is very similar to the plan I just talked about above, the main difference however is that the data volume is split in two parts, no bonuses. You will be given a 1.5GB worth of data that can be used during the day as from 6:01am to 8:59pm and a 3GB worth of data that can be used only at night. Like the previous plan, it is also valid for 30 days. To activate this plan, simply dial *120# or text “120” to 131. Another striking difference between this plan and the previous plan above is that if you use your data appropriately you can enjoy longer browsing time without worrying about data expiration. So it is advisable to do minimal streaming and downloading during, it is better to pile them up and download your needs at night that have a larger volume of data allocation.
Lastly, we will be looking at the 500MB night data that costs N25. This is obviously the best package to consider because you only get to activate this service when you have immediate and pressing needs for it. It is available between the hours of 11:00am and 6:00am. To activate this plan simply send “night” to 131. Many people have suggested that this N25 for 500MB is the best night plan when compared to the other night packages of other mobile network providers like glo, Airtel and Etisalat. Some guys told me that they have enjoyed more than the allotted 500MB , even up to 2GB while others complained that barely used up to 150MB before mtn sent them a message that they have exhausted their 500MB data. Personally my experience has been good, no complains whatsoever, I used my 500MB well and I enjoyed a better network reception that normal. I also noticed that the best period to use this package is between 2:00am to 4:00am, this is because a lot of people would be on the network between 12:00am and 2:00am so by then they would have exhausted the allotted 500MB giving room for other users to enjoy the service.
A major downside to this service plan is that you only get to use it once per night and not repeatedly. So if you exhaust your 500MB data and haven’t completed what you set out to do, you will have to wait till the next night before you can activate another night plan.
CONCLUSION
The mtn night plan packages are all great although the network quality is not as amazing as that of Airtel. But at least Mtn don’t consume as much data as Airtel does, it is a far more convenient option to consider because at the end of the day you will be glad you did use mtn and surely you won’t be left frustrated as the other network would do to you. We rate this service plan a 6/10 on our rate scale.
