Sony today launched a smartphone called Xperia 8 Lite in Japan. Its design and main specifications are almost identical to those of the Xperia 10 launched in February 2019. The main difference is the main camera.
Xperia 8 Lite is equipped with the Snapdragon 630 chipset , which is a 14-nanometer processor that was unveiled more than three years ago. The screen is still a 6-inch LCD panel with a resolution of Full HD+ and a super high ratio of 21:9, which is the so-called “fish screen”. The body size is also exactly the same as Xperia 10, including the pill-shaped dual camera on the back.
When it comes to the camera, this is the only difference between the new phone, the new phone is equipped with a 12MP f/1.8 main camera + 8MP f/2.4 secondary camera. For comparison, Xperia 10 uses 13MP f/2.0 main camera + 5MP f/2.4 depth sensor.
Sony did not disclose what the main purpose of the secondary camera is. According to official promotional materials, the Xperia 8 Lite will take great photos that highlight the subject. This means that the 8MP camera may be a complex depth sensor. The company also claims that this phone has 2 Optical zoom.
The front camera is hidden in the wide top frame. The parameter is 8 million pixels f/2.0. The top of the device is also equipped with a 3.5 mm audio jack, and the bottom has a USB-C interface for a 2870 mAh battery Recharge. In addition, Xperia 8 Lite will be equipped with Android Pie , which is the operating system two years ago.
Naijatechnews understands that this phone is priced at 29,800 yen, which is approximately RMB 1,900. It is equipped with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage space. It is available in two colors (white and black). Pre-orders are now available. Shipped on Tuesday, September 1.
