U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC)’s Apple Watch sales ban has officially come into effect. Apple’s official website has currently stopped selling Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2.
We visited the Apple’s official US website and opened the product page. The “Buy” button on the right side has been removed, and a “currently unavailable” reminder is printed in the upper left corner of the product.
Apple announced on Monday that it would comply with the International Trade Commission’s ruling and suspend sales of Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2.
Apple’s offline channels in the United States will also stop selling after December 24. Third-party stores such as Target, Walmart and Best Buy can continue to sell Apple Watch, and this ban will not affect Apple Watch SE.
Apple also issued a memo stating that affected by the sales ban, Apple Watches that are out of warranty will not be repairable.
” The Product Replacement Unit (CRU) program does not apply to the following watches: Apple Watch Series 6 or later, Apple Watch Ultra or later, ” the memo reads.
Including Apple Watch Series 6 and later models and the first-generation Apple Watch Ultra, Apple can no longer provide replacement services for Apple Watches equipped with blood oxygen sensors that are out of warranty.
The above-mentioned US Apple Watch users can still get repairs if they encounter software problems, but if they encounter hardware failures, they will no longer be able to receive repair services after the warranty period is exceeded.
