Kim Kardashian freezes Instagram account for 24 hours and protests to Facebook
According to reports, Kim Kardashian West (Kim Kardashian West) temporarily frozen Facebook and Instagram accounts on Wednesday, working with other celebrities to put pressure on Facebook in the hope that it will curb hatred messages and propaganda.
Kardashian posted on Instagram, saying: “Misinformation spread widely on social media, causing serious harm to our elections and democracy.” She joined the “Stop Hate for Profit” campaign and countered Facebook.
Many celebrities have joined the protests, such as black actor Kerry Washington (Kerry Washington), Oscar actress Jennifer Lawrence (Jennifer Lawrence), Sacha Baron Cohen (Sacha Baron Cohen), they posted to Facebook shouted, hoping that Facebook would do more.
Beginning this summer, civil rights organizations have protested against Facebook, and the activities have been supported by hundreds of large companies. In July, these companies began to boycott Facebook ads, but their actions did not cause much impact on Facebook. This week, the organizers called on users to post to point out the harm caused by Facebook, and hope that users will “freeze” their Instagram accounts for 24 hours on Wednesday, US time.
Kardashian has 188 million followers on Instagram and has a huge influence.
